
Richard L. Russman was born in Gregory, South Dakota, and raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After graduating from Aberdeen Central High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science, with a major in history and a minor in psychology, from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion. There he also competed in intercollegiate baseball. Rich earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law.
Prior to joining the Richardson Law Firm in 2004, Rich honed his legal skills through a general practice that specialized in criminal law. Rich practiced both civil and criminal law in private practice at the Aberdeen-based Rice, Ewinger & Russman Law Firm. He served as Chief Deputy State’s Attorney at the Brown County State’s Attorney’s Office between 2000 and 2005. Rich has been a partner at the Richardson Law Firm since 2006. Rich was appointed to the Federal Practice Committee in 2010.
Rich and his wife Tracy have three children, Zach, Madison and Reese.
